Eddie Paul

Description
The voice actor known as Eddie Paul is a pseudonym for the American voice actor Ted Lewis, who has been active in the anime dubbing industry since the 1990s. He is also credited under the names Ed Paul and Eddie Paulson. His career is closely associated with the early era of English anime dubs produced in New York, having worked with studios such as 4Kids Entertainment, TAJ Productions, Central Park Media, DuArt Film and Video, and NYAV Post.

As Ed Paul, he is credited with two specific voice roles. He voiced the character Hol in the live-action film Space Travelers. In the English language version of the anime series The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, he played the role of Lieutenant Harold Katori, the calm and well-mannered pilot and navigator of the spaceship Soyokaze.

Under his primary name, Ted Lewis, his career is extensive and well-documented, featuring a wide array of prominent anime roles. He is perhaps best known for his long-standing association with the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, where he voiced characters including Bakura Ryou, Yami Bakura, Bandit Keith, and later Jack Atlas in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and subsequent series. Another major role was in the Pokémon anime, where he was the original voice of the villain Giovanni and voiced the recurring character Tracey Sketchit. His other notable anime credits include King Dedede and Escargoon in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, Zangulus in Slayers, and roles in shows such as Revolutionary Girl Utena, Genshiken, and One Piece.

Lewis's work often involved recurring collaborations with specific dubbing studios and their associated talent pools. Through 4Kids Productions, he became a staple voice in many of their localized series, frequently working alongside other New York-based voice actors. His work on The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, produced by TAJ Productions, placed him with a cast that included Crispin Freeman and Rachael Lillis. Beyond voice acting, he has also contributed to the industry as a scriptwriter, notably for Pokémon Chronicles, and as a voice director on projects like the English adaptation of Yu-Gi-Oh!. In 2018, his work was recognized with two Behind the Voice Actors Awards for Best Vocal Ensemble in an Anime Feature Film/Special for his participation in Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions.
