Homero Villarreal is a Mexican translator, voice actor, and broadcaster known for his contributions to Latin American Spanish dubbing and his work in anime localization. He began his career in dubbing in 1996 and was active until his retirement in 2015.
Born in Mexico City, Villarreal pursued higher education at the National School of Plastic Arts (UNAM), where he studied Graphic Communication from 1983 to 1987. Beyond his performance work, he was also a skilled translator, proficient in English, German, French, Portuguese, and Italian, which allowed him to work extensively in adapting foreign scripts. His translations for The Lord of the Rings film saga are noted for having helped update and modernize the approach to dubbing in Mexico and Latin America.
