Gully Jimson
Description
Gully Jimson is the professional pseudonym used by Doug Stone, a Canadian voice actor born on December 27, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario. He is primarily known for his work in anime dubs produced for the North American market.
Jimson's most recognized role is as the voice of Dad in the 1997 original video animation series Jungle de Ikou!. This English-language adaptation was produced by Bang Zoom! under the direction of Eric P. Sherman. In addition to voicing the protagonist's father, Jimson also provided the voice for a TV Announcer in the same OVA.
His career encompasses a range of supporting characters in several prominent anime series from the late 1990s and early 2000s. In the acclaimed series Cowboy Bebop, he voiced the characters Baker Panchorero in episode 10 and Van. He had multiple roles in the space western series Outlaw Star, including Jukai, a Shooter, an Immigration Official, an Old Tourist, a Ctarl-Ctarl Operator, and a Gorgeous Mitsuru Crewman. Jimson also contributed to the series The Big O, where he voiced the character Mr. Wise in episode 9. His film credits include roles in the English dubs of the classic Panda! Go, Panda! movies, where he played a Policeman in the first film and had an unnamed role in its sequel, Panda! Go, Panda!: Rainy Day Circus.
Beyond his on-screen voice roles, Gully Jimson also worked as a Walla Coach, a type of voice director for background and group scenes, on the English version of the Idol Project OVA.
