Klaus Jepsen was a German actor and voice actor born on April 26, 1936, in Schleswig, Germany. He passed away on January 16, 2005, in Berlin. His career was primarily defined by extensive work in German audio drama productions and voice dubbing for film and television.
Jepsen was a prominent voice in the popular German audio drama adaptations of Karl May's novels, produced by Kurt Vethake for the Maritim label during the 1970s. In these productions, he performed a variety of roles, demonstrating his range as a voice actor. His credits include playing the narrator in Der Blaurote Methusalem I and II, as well as the character Mijnheer Van Aardappelenbosch in the same series. In other Karl May radio plays, he voiced the character Selim in Im Lande Des Mahdi I - Menschenjäger and took on the title role of Dr. Sternau in Die Pyramide Des Sonnengottes. Beyond the Karl May series, his work in the audio drama medium also included the role of Jim in a 1974 production of Huckleberry Finns Abenteuer.
In addition to his audio drama work, Jepsen was active as a dubbing actor, lending his voice to various characters in German-language versions of international productions. He provided the German voice for the character Handcus in the 1986 animated film Asterix - Operation Hinkelstein. His later voice work included roles in the animated television series Sonic Underground and as the German dubbing voice for Earl Stutz in The Iron Giant and Dr. Masayuki Ogawa in Case Closed.
Jepsen also had on-screen acting roles in German film and television productions. His credits include a part as Alexandrow in the 1966 television miniseries Die rote Kapelle, a role as Brandmeister in the long-running series Löwenzahn, and an appearance as a presiding judge in the series Liebling - Kreuzberg. Later in his career, he had a role as Dr. Pohlmann in the 1991 comedy film Pappa ante Portas. It was also known that he occasionally worked under the pseudonym Klaus Seibert.
