Dylan Tully

Description
Dylan Tully was the professional alias used by American voice actor Michael Lindsay, who was born on May 9, 1963, in Washington, D.C. He studied theatre at Adelphi University before embarking on a career in voice acting that spanned from 1979 until his retirement in 2012. Lindsay was known for his extensive work in English dubs of anime series and films, contributing voices to numerous prominent titles during the late 1990s and 2000s.

Under the name Dylan Tully, he is recognized for providing the English voice for the iconic protagonist Amuro Ray in the English dub of the first three Mobile Suit Gundam compilation films. This role placed him within one of the most foundational and celebrated franchises in anime history. Beyond this specific credit, his broader career as Michael Lindsay included a wide range of other major anime roles. He was particularly well-known as the voice of Kisuke Urahara in over 200 episodes of Bleach, Kankuro in both Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden, and as both Joe Kido and Greymon in Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.

His work frequently involved long-running collaborations with the primary studios and production teams responsible for bringing popular anime series to English-speaking audiences. He was a recurring voice in several major franchises, providing voices for various characters across multiple series, films, and video game adaptations. This is particularly evident in his work within the Naruto and Bleach franchises, where he voiced characters for several years. Lindsay officially retired from voice acting in 2012, after which most of his ongoing anime roles, such as Kankuro, were recast to voice actor Doug Erholtz. Michael Lindsay passed away on August 31, 2019, leaving behind a substantial body of work that contributed to the English-language legacy of many beloved anime series.
