Gerd Grasse

Gerd Grasse is a German actor and voice artist, born in 1943. He studied acting at the Theaterhochschule Hans Otto in Leipzig. Following an engagement at the Landestheater Berlin, he worked as a freelance actor and later also took on work as a director. His on-screen career includes numerous roles in film and television productions.

In addition to his on-camera work, Grasse has been active extensively as a voice actor. This facet of his career encompasses work in dubbing, as a television narrator, and in radio plays. He has provided the German voice for characters in several anime series. Notably, he voiced the character Wei Wang in the German version of Cardcaptor Sakura and took on the role of Professor Tani in the OAV series 8 Man After. His other anime credits include portraying the legendary manga artist Osamu Tezuka in an episode of Astro Boy and voicing characters such as Filialleiter and Luca Roxas Jr. in Cat's Eye. He also provided the German voice for the character Old Shatterhand in a film adaptation of the Winnetou stories.

His work in audio dramas includes directing and voicing a role in the 1989 musical production Heute Abend: Lola Blau, featuring Maria Mallé.
