Duio Botta

Description
Duio Botta is a Brazilian actor, singer, and voice actor known for his work in dubbing animation, live-action series, and anime for the Brazilian Portuguese market. His full name is João Heriberto Botta Junior. Before gaining recognition for his voice work, Botta participated in talent shows on Brazilian television, including Ídolos in 2006 and Jovens Talentos on Programa Raul Gil. He began his career in dubbing after joining the Rio Sound Studios in 2014, where he initially worked in administration before taking a dubbing course and starting to voice characters.

In the realm of anime, Botta has voiced a number of notable characters. He is the voice of Raiden Shuga, the deputy commander of the Spearhead Squadron, in the anime series 86, a role that stands as a primary example of his work in the genre. His other anime credits include voicing 9'γ in Darling in the Franxx, Jyūbei Aryū in BLUELOCK, Chonbo in Tokyo Revengers, and Mitsuyo Kureishi in Kengan Ashura. He has also contributed voices to series such as Blue Period and How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom.

Beyond anime, Botta has an extensive body of work in other areas of dubbing. A significant and high-profile role was providing the Brazilian Portuguese voice for the popular YouTuber MrBeast, a position he held as the first voice for the channel's localized content. He has also dubbed numerous characters in Western animations, most notably Prince Krel Tarron in the Trollhunters franchise from Guillermo del Toro, including the series Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, and the film Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. His film dubbing work includes voicing Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen and Clint Briggs in Spirited, as well as providing additional voices for major releases like Barbie and Gran Turismo: From Player to Racer.

In addition to dubbing, Duio Botta is also an on-screen actor. He has appeared in several Brazilian telenovelas produced by TV Globo, including Êta Mundo Bom! (as Raul Love/Rauladas), A Dona do Pedaço (as the butler Jardel), and Êta Mundo Melhor! (as Tales). This on-screen work, he notes, is a different kind of performance challenge compared to dubbing, which he describes as a technique for actors that requires interpreting a pre-existing performance. His early career also included a stint in music, having released a single titled Amnésia, which was part of the soundtrack for the novel Revelação.
