Douglas Taylor

Description
Douglas Taylor is an American voice actor known for his work in English-language dubs of anime series and original video animations, primarily during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is most prominently recognized for providing the voice of the protagonist Ryoma Nagare in the 1998 OVA series Getter Robo: Armageddon, an English-language adaptation produced in association with ADV Films.

Taylor's career during this period was focused on voice work for anime distributed in North America. His role in Getter Robo: Armageddon placed him within a cast that included other regulars in the anime dubbing industry at the time, such as Bill Wise, who voiced Hayato Jin, and Lowell B. Bartholomee, who voiced Benkei Kuruma. The series, a seminal work in the mecha genre based on the manga by Ken Ishikawa and Go Nagai, featured a dark and violent reimagining of the original story, with Taylor voicing the hot-blooded and vengeful lead pilot.

Beyond his signature role, Douglas Taylor's filmography includes voice parts in several other notable anime titles from the same era. His credits include roles in the 1999 OVA Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal, where he is credited as Katagai. He also lent his voice to projects such as the 1998 OVA Queen Emeraldas, the science fiction series Lost Universe in 1998, and Tekken: The Motion Picture, an anime adaptation of the popular video game franchise released in 1997. Other credits from this period include the 1997 OVA Ninja Resurrection and the 1990 television series Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. His body of work is representative of the English dubbing industry based in Texas during the late 1990s, which produced numerous English adaptations of Japanese anime for the North American market.
