Kotaro Takata is a Japanese manga artist best known as the illustrator of the popular zombie comedy series Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. He was born on October 25, 1978, and is a native of Ehime Prefecture in Japan. Takata made his professional debut as a manga creator in 2002 with a short story titled Freestyle, which was published in a special issue of Big Comic Spirits magazine. In his early career, he studied under several established manga artists, including Yuki Zao, Kenjiro Hata, and Kosuke Iijima.
Takata's first major serialized work was Hallelujah Overdrive!, which ran in the magazine Monthly Shōnen Sunday from 2009 to 2015.
