Description
Merryhachi is a Japanese manga artist known for creating yuri (girls' love) comics that blend romantic comedy with ecchi elements. The creator is a woman from Saitama Prefecture who has also lived in Iwate Prefecture before returning to Saitama. Merryhachi is married and has a child, having taken maternity leave in 2019 during the serialization of one of her major works.

Merryhachi is best known as the author and illustrator of the manga series Love to Lie Angle, also known as Tachibanakan To Lie Angle or Tachibanakan Triangle. This series was serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine, beginning with the January 2015 issue released on November 18, 2014, and concluding on April 17, 2020. The manga was compiled into nine volumes and has been licensed for English release in North America by Digital Manga Publishing. The story follows a teenage girl named Hanabi Natsuno who finds herself in sexually suggestive situations with her female roommates after returning to her hometown for high school.

The success of Love to Lie Angle led to an anime television adaptation that premiered on April 4, 2018. The twelve-episode series was produced by studios Creators in Pack and Studio Lings, directed by Hisayoshi Hirasawa, and ran until June 20, 2018. Each episode had a runtime of approximately four minutes. The series was simulcast by Crunchyroll.

Beyond this flagship title, Merryhachi has created several other manga works. Tachibana-kan CeLeb Life was serialized from 2017 to 2019 and compiled into a single volume. Zenbu Kimi no Sei da (titled It's All Your Fault in English) ran from 2022 to 2025, spanning five volumes and twenty-eight chapters. Merryhachi has also contributed to multiple yuri anthologies, including Isekai Tensei Yuri Anthology (2019), Lesbian Fuuzoku Anthology (2019), and Yuri Drill: Numa-hen (2021). Additionally, Merryhachi contributed to the Yuruyuri 10th anniversary memorial book as a guest artist.

Merryhachi is recognized as a creator who primarily produces yuri works with strong comedic elements and fan service. The artist has stated a reluctance to draw original male characters due to shyness, though does enjoy male-female pairings as a fan. The consistent focus on humorous, ecchi-tinged yuri narratives across serializations and anthology contributions establishes a clear artistic identity within the manga industry. The successful transition from serialized manga in Comic Yuri Hime to an anime adaptation with Love to Lie Angle represents a significant achievement, bringing Merryhachi's work to a broader audience through international streaming platforms.
