Crystal na Yōsuke

Description
Crystal na Yōsuke is a Japanese manga artist and original creator known for works that blend romantic comedy with slice-of-life elements. The creator, whose name is also stylized as Kurisutaruna Yōsuke and who uses the alternative name Satou Yōsuke, was born on March 31, 1980, in Yurihonjo, Akita Prefecture, Japan.

Crystal na Yōsuke began gaining recognition with the serialization of Onidere in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine. The series ran from April 2008 to February 2011 and was collected into eleven tankōbon volumes. Onidere is a romantic comedy centered on the secret relationship between a stern-looking delinquent gang leader and a quiet boy who is a member of his school’s handicraft club.

Following this, the creator launched Hime Hajike in 2012, which was collected in three volumes, and then M Game, which ran from 2013 to 2015.

The creator’s most widely known work is Love Is Like a Cocktail (Osake wa Fūfu ni Natte kara). This web manga was serialized on Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits online magazine from April 2015 to July 2019, with its chapters compiled into twelve volumes. The series depicts the daily life of a married couple, Chisato and Sora Mizusawa, focusing on the cocktails Sora prepares for his wife after her workdays. Its lighthearted and heartwarming portrayal of domestic life, combined with actual cocktail recipes, contributed to its popularity.

An anime television series adaptation of Love Is Like a Cocktail was produced by the studio Creators in Pack and aired from October to December 2017. The series consisted of thirteen short episodes, each approximately three minutes long, with an additional special episode released in 2018. Crystal na Yōsuke is credited as the original creator for the anime. A previous work, Onidere, was also slated for an anime adaptation, though its broadcast was canceled.

Other notable manga series by Crystal na Yōsuke include Otoko no Ko Tsuma, a web manga serialized from 2016 to 2020, and Bonnou☆Saiyuuki, which began in 2020. The creator’s body of work often features romantic comedy narratives, frequently exploring relationships, domestic life, and character dynamics within lighthearted settings.
