Description
Haruto Haneki is the original creator known for the anime and manga work Luger Code 1951. Haneki's entry into the industry began with a contest submission. The story idea for Luger Code 1951 was submitted to the Shounen Jump+ × Animax Anime Scenario Award contest, which required an original scenario suitable for adaptation into a short anime of approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Haneki's submission won the Grand Prize. The prize included a monetary award of two million yen, a manga adaptation serialized on Shounen Jump+, and subsequent anime adaptation.

The manga version of Luger Code 1951 was published in Shounen Jump+ and ran for three chapters, released from December 28, 2015, to February 29, 2016. The manga was illustrated by Akira Akatsuki, who also served as one of the contest judges. The story follows Testa Lielbelle, a young linguistic genius and university professor, who is recruited by the Allied Cryptanalysis Department. He is tasked with breaking the Luger Code, an encrypted language used by enemy werewolves for their radio transmissions. Unable to decipher the code, Testa resolves to capture a live werewolf, leading him to a female werewolf named Yonaga.

The anime adaptation of Luger Code 1951 is a twenty-five minute original net animation produced by Studio Deen. It was released on October 16, 2016. The anime was directed by Shinya Takahashi, with a script by Katsuhiko Takayama, music by Ryo Kawasaki, and character designs adapted for animation by Hirofumi Morimoto. The series aired on the Animax broadcast network and was also streamed on the Shounen Jump+ website. Takuya Eguchi provided the voice for the character Sergeant Alex Rossa.
