Kristen Sullivan

Description
Kristen Sullivan is an American voice actor known for her work in animation and commercial voice-overs, with a notable role in the English dub of the anime film A Silent Voice. She is an alumna of Sacred Heart University's School of Communication, Media & the Arts, from which she graduated in 2015. Her interest in voice acting was sparked during a freshman-year internship with the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show at iHeartRadio in New York City, where she discovered the field combined her passion for acting with her interest in radio. During her two-year internship, she was given on-air opportunities, including voicing the character Little Miss Know It All for Nickelodeon Radio, and she used the experience to build a professional demo reel.

Following her internship, Sullivan began booking commercial and animation work. Her voice can be heard in commercials and instructional videos for brands such as Elf Pets, Scribble Stuff, and Tula Skincare, and she voiced the character Rayne in the animated YouTube series Hairdorables. Her most prominent and favored project to date is providing the English voice for Yuzuru Nishimiya in the critically acclaimed Kyoto Animation film A Silent Voice. Yuzuru is the younger sister of the deaf protagonist, Shoko Nishimiya, and Sullivan was cast in the role for the English dub produced by NYAV Post. The dub was directed by Stephanie Sheh, and the cast also included Robbie Daymond as Shoya Ishida and Lexi Marman Cowden as Shoko Nishimiya. Sullivan traveled to Los Angeles to record her lines for the film, an experience she noted was a departure from her usual commercial work in New York and provided valuable insight into the anime dubbing process. A Silent Voice was nominated for Best Animated Film by the Japanese Film Academy in 2017 and has been screened in North American theaters on multiple occasions, including anniversary events.
