Marlene Pérez is a Chilean voice actress, journalist, and commercial announcer known for her work in Spanish dubbing for Latin America. She was born Marlene Monserrat Pérez Weber on February 26, 1986, in Santiago de Chile. Her interest in voice acting began in her childhood while watching the animated series Garfield y sus amigos, which inspired her dream of pursuing a career in dubbing. Before fully committing to this path, she studied journalism and worked in scientific and advertising fields. At the age of 26, she enrolled at the ProVoz dubbing school in Chile, where she studied under Rosario Zamora and formally began her dubbing career in late 2013.

Pérez is also a trained singer, a skill she has applied in her dubbing work by performing opening themes and songs for various series, including Zack y Quack, Hi-5, and Ollie & Moon. She has an advanced level of English.

Her most recognized and iconic role is providing the Spanish voice for the protagonist Atsuko Akko Kagari in the anime franchise Little Witch Academia. She voiced the character in the original short films, the feature-length movie Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade, and the subsequent television series. Pérez has frequently expressed deep personal and professional satisfaction with this role, noting that it marked her career and remains a beloved part of her legacy among fans. Her work on Little Witch Academia is widely considered one of the most memorable Chilean anime dubs.

Beyond this signature role, Pérez has an extensive filmography in anime, animation, and live-action dubbing. Her other anime credits include Clarisse Layer in Edens Zero and Freyja in the ONA series Obsolete. She has also voiced characters in the animated films Belle and The Dragon Rider.

Pérez has demonstrated a recurring collaboration with specific original actors. She is the official Spanish voice for Turkish actress Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu, having dubbed her in the film Delibal and the highly successful television series Kızım, known in Spanish as Todo por mi hija. She has also frequently dubbed actresses such as Erica Mendez and Megumi Han, the original voice actors for Akko Kagari, across multiple projects.

Her work is not limited to animation and anime. Pérez has an extensive career dubbing live-action series and films, including notable roles in popular shows such as Orange Is the New Black, Jessica Jones, Supervivencia al desnudo, and numerous Turkish dramas like Mi patria eres tú and Traicionada.

In a notable career development, Pérez took an indefinite hiatus from dubbing after being awarded a scholarship to study in South Korea. She officially announced her return to the profession on July 25, 2023, resuming her work as a voice actress for all of Latin America.
