Hiromitsu Takeda

Description
Hiromitsu Takeda is a Japanese manga artist and original creator recognized for his work in both general and adult publications. Born on May 27, his professional career began after he started posting computer graphics on a personal website during high school, which led to an invitation to join a doujin circle. This group later evolved into the game brand HOOK, where Takeda was involved before shifting his focus to freelance and doujin activities.

Takeda is best known as the author of the manga series Maken-Ki!, which was serialized in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine. The series, an action harem comedy, began in 2007 and concluded in March 2020, spanning a total of 24 collected volumes. Its success led to multiple anime adaptations, establishing Takeda’s profile as a creator whose work transitions from page to screen. The first anime television series, simply titled Maken-Ki!, was produced by AIC and aired in 2011. Two original video animation episodes followed, bundled with special editions of the manga. A second season, Maken-Ki! Two, was animated by Xebec and broadcast in 2014. In all these adaptations, Takeda is consistently credited as the original creator.

Beyond his general-audience work, Takeda maintains a significant presence in adult manga and game illustration. He operates under the doujin circle name Shinjugai, also known as Pearl Oyster. His published adult manga include titles such as Tsundero and Sister Breeder. He has also contributed original character designs and artwork for adult games and animated adaptations of his adult works. His creative output in this area is noted for encompassing a range of themes.

Throughout his career, Takeda’s artistic identity is characterized by a clear visual style and a focus on action-oriented narratives intertwined with romantic and comedic elements, as seen in Maken-Ki!. His adult works frequently explore themes of pure love alongside netorare narratives. His dual involvement in mainstream serialization and the doujin community highlights his versatility and sustained influence within the broader manga and anime industry.
