Minami Omi is a Japanese voice actress, essayist, and columnist born on July 13, 1968, in Tokyo, Japan. She began her career in 1985 after graduating from the Katsuta Voice Actor Academy, making her debut in the anime series Smurf. Over her decades-long career, she has been affiliated with several voice actor agencies, including ARTSVISION, Production Baobab, and the Osawa Office. In March 2012, she co-founded her own agency, Pomarangel, with fellow voice actor Yuji Ueda.
Minami is renowned for her distinctive, high-pitched voice, which is particularly well-suited for playing young boys, girls, and small animal characters. Her performance style is often described as able to convey both a delicate frailty and a cool, detached demeanor.
