Marloes van den Heuvel
Description
Marloes van den Heuvel is a Dutch actress, singer, and voice actress with a career spanning stage, film, and television since the 1980s. She has also worked extensively as a voice director for Dutch-language dubs of animated series.
Born in Oss on January 24, 1956, van den Heuvel initially trained as a physiotherapist, completing her studies in 1978, before pursuing her artistic education at the Academie voor Kleinkunst, from which she graduated in 1981. Her early career was rooted in theatre, where she performed in numerous productions and musicals, including roles in Barnum, Hello Dolly, Titanic, and Sister Act.
In addition to her stage work, van den Heuvel became a prominent figure in Dutch dubbing, providing the voices for characters in numerous international films and television series. Her film dubbing credits include roles such as Rosie in A Bug's Life, Mrs. Potato Head in the Toy Story series, Vitani in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and Azura in Barbie: Fairytopia. She also lent her voice to various characters in popular animated series like The Fairly OddParents (as Wanda), SpongeBob SquarePants, Winx Club (as Kalshara), and Danny Phantom. A key part of her voice work has been for the Dutch versions of anime series. She voiced the character Bruja in the Netflix series Glitter Force. In the second season of the anime series Bakugan, Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia, she performed the voice of both Elfin and Ingram in the Dutch dub.
Her work in dubbing also extends to direction, having served as a voice director for Dutch adaptations of series such as My Life as a Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom, and Little Bill. She is the mother of actor Gijs Blom, with whom she has appeared on stage and in film. Her contributions to the performing arts have been recognized with awards, including the Pisuisse-prijs in 1981.
