Dana Snyder

Description
Dana Snyder is an American actor and comedian known for his extensive work in voice acting, particularly for animated television series and films. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania around 1973 or 1974 and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, he developed an early interest in performance, citing comedians Don Rickles, Rip Taylor, and Phil Silvers as influences. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in Missouri in 1996.

Snyder's career in voice acting began with his most iconic role, Master Shake on the Adult Swim animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a part he landed after an audition over the phone with the show's co-creator, Dave Willis. This long-running role, which began in 2000 and continued for over two decades, established him as a key figure in the network's programming. His association with Adult Swim led to numerous other voice roles, including Granny Cuyler in Squidbillies, Baby Ball in Ballmastrz: 9009, and The Alchemist in The Venture Bros..

Beyond his work for Adult Swim, Snyder has voiced characters across a wide spectrum of animation for other major networks. He played the fruit seller Gazpacho in the Cartoon Network series Chowder, Mr. Baldwin in the Disney series Fish Hooks, and Leonard the Koala in The Penguins of Madagascar. He also provided the voice of Dr. Colosso, a villain-turned-rabbit, in the live-action Nickelodeon series The Thundermans, and later voiced the ghost Scratch in the Disney Channel animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee. His filmography includes roles in direct-to-video animated films such as Open Season 3 and several Batman Unlimited titles, where he voiced The Penguin.

In the realm of anime, Snyder contributed to the English-language dub of the critically acclaimed 2011 animated film A Letter to Momo. In this film, directed by Hiroyuki Okiura, he voiced the character Kawa, one of three mischievous yokai spirits who befriend the young protagonist, Momo. Kawa is depicted as the most slovenly, selfish, and greedy member of the supernatural trio. The English adaptation of the film also featured the voice talents of Fred Tatasciore as Iwa and Bob Bergen as Mame, the other two spirits.

Snyder's career is marked by frequent collaborations, particularly with the creators and voice actors associated with Adult Swim. His long-standing working relationship with Dave Willis, which began with Aqua Teen Hunger Force, continued across various projects, including the series Squidbillies. He has also shared voice acting credits with a recurring circle of talent, such as appearing alongside Fred Tatasciore in multiple productions like A Letter to Momo and Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts. Beyond voice work, Snyder has demonstrated his versatility as a performer with live-action roles in shows like Saul of the Mole Men and Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell, and has also been active in regional theater, starring in productions of Mel Brooks' The Producers. In addition to his acting, he has co-hosted several podcasts over the years, including Ken P.D. Snydecast, Drunk on Disney, and None of This Matters with fellow voice actor MC Chris.
