Mecha-Roots is a manga artist known for their work on the series Night of the Living Cat. In this capacity, Mecha-Roots serves as the illustrator, collaborating with the writer Hawkman, who is credited with the original story and scenario. The pair began serializing Night of the Living Cat in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Garden magazine in October 2020.

Prior to this work, Mecha-Roots created manga under a different pen name. From 2016 to 2017, using the name tsurukame, they serialized the online work Ame no Hi no Bonsai and also produced a short piece titled Nabeshima Okuna no Ichinichi. The artist began using the name Mecha-Roots by 2020 with the launch of Night of the Living Cat.

The manga, a horror-comedy set in a post-apocalyptic world where a virus turns humans into cats upon contact, has been published in several collected volumes. The first volume was released in Japan on May 10, 2021. The series has been licensed for an English-language release in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime television series adaptation of Night of the Living Cat, produced by the animation studio OLM, is scheduled to premiere in July 2025. This adaptation marks a significant step for Mecha-Roots as a creator, bringing their illustrated work to a wider audience through an animated format.
