Shimo Aono is a Japanese manga artist recognized for their work on manga adaptations of light novel series. Aono is best known for illustrating the manga version of Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!, a fantasy series written by Makishima Suzuki. This manga adaptation began serialization in December 2018 on Hobby Japan's Comic Fire website, and as of March 2025, eleven volumes have been released. An anime television series adaptation of Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!, based on the light novels and featuring the manga credited to Aono, aired from January to March 2025. Aono is also known for illustrating the manga adaptation of I'm in Love with the Villainess, a light novel series written by Inori. Both manga series have been licensed for English release in North America by J-Novel Club. Through these projects, Shimo Aono has established a career adapting popular light novel properties into serialized manga formats.
