Yasohachi Tsuchise

Description
Yasohachi Tsuchise is a Japanese writer known for creating the series The Invincible Shovel. This work, which is also known in Japan as Scoop Musō, represents Tsuchise’s most prominent contribution to the manga and light novel industry. The series follows a legendary miner named Alan who wields a powerful shovel and teams up with a runaway princess to fight demons and recover cursed jewels. The narrative is characterized as a comedic fantasy that deliberately subverts common sense and conventional fantasy tropes.

The Invincible Shovel originated as a light novel series before being adapted into a manga. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Renji Fukuhara, was published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the first volume released in July 2021. Tsuchise is credited as the original creator and writer of the series, establishing the story, characters, and world that were subsequently adapted into the visual medium of manga. The light novel illustrations and character designs were provided by the artist Hagure Yuuki. Beyond this series, there is no widely documented information about other original works, the creator’s personal background, or any direct involvement in anime productions. Tsuchise’s industry significance is primarily tied to the success and unique comedic premise of The Invincible Shovel, which has seen multiple volumes published and a complete adaptation into an English-language manga format.
