Yupopo Orishima is a manga creator whose work spans the boys’ love and romantic comedy genres. Orishima is credited as the original creator behind the manga series Fucked by My Best Friend, which began serialization in Japan in October 2019. This series, known in Japanese as Kuro-Gyaru ni Natta Kara Shinyū to Yatte Mita., follows two womanizing college friends whose relationship changes after one undergoes a physical transformation. The series was later adapted into an anime television series that premiered in April 2021.

Beyond this notable work, Orishima has a history of publishing manga dating back to the early 2010s. Earlier published works include SEXCUSE ME, released in November 2012; Tada Massugu ni Kimi wo Omou, which was published in collected form in December 2012; and Ant Platonic, released in August 2015. The latter two titles have been identified as boys’ love drama manga with school settings. Another earlier work is Son no Koi, Himitsu ni Tsuki, published in November 2013.

The creator’s body of work demonstrates a consistent focus on themes of intimate relationships between male characters. Fucked by My Best Friend incorporates additional elements of body-swap and romantic comedy, representing a departure from the more straightforward drama of earlier works while maintaining a central focus on same-sex romance.
