yoruhashi is a Japanese manga artist. He made his professional debut as a manga creator on January 31, 2014, with the series Ken no Oukoku, which was published on the web comic app comico. He ended the serialization of this work on comico on February 1, 2019. Shortly thereafter, in April 2019, he began serializing a new series, Hametsu no Oukoku, in Monthly Comic Garden magazine. This series was also published across several web comic platforms, including Manga Doa, MAGCOMI, and pixiv Comic. The first collected volume of Hametsu no Oukoku was released on October 10, 2019.
Hametsu no Oukoku, also known as The Kingdoms of Ruin, is a dark fantasy and science fiction manga. The story is set in a world where humanity has used the power of magic, a gift from witches, to flourish. However, after a scientific revolution known as the Gear Expansion renders magic obsolete, a powerful empire begins a ruthless hunt to exterminate all witches. The protagonist, Adonis, is a young boy and apprentice to a witch he dearly loves. After she is killed by the empire, he swears revenge and becomes a furious wizard determined to make humanity pay. The manga is licensed for English publication by Seven Seas Entertainment. As of July 2024, eleven volumes have been released in Japan.
An anime television series adaptation of The Kingdoms of Ruin was produced by Yokohama Animation Laboratory and directed by Keitaro Motonaga. The series aired from October 7, 2023, to December 23, 2023, and consisted of twelve episodes. The English version of the anime is licensed by Crunchyroll.
Beyond his work on The Kingdoms of Ruin, yoruhashi has also created other manga series. He is the author of Kokusan Shoujo Clarith, which began serialization in Kodansha's Shounen Magazine Edge. As of July 2023, one volume has been published. In August 2025, he is scheduled to launch a new manga titled Nemureru Mori no Rega in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, which is inspired by the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty.
