Nozomu Koryu is the original creator behind the Japanese light novel series Sweet Reincarnation, known in Japan as Okashi na Tensei. As the author of the original work, Koryu began the series as a web novel published on the user-generated content site Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in February 2015. The series was later acquired for print publication by TO Books, which released the first light novel volume on October 20, 2015, with illustrations by Yasuyuki Shuri. As of late 2024, the light novel series has continued with over twenty-seven volumes.

The original work by Nozomu Koryu has served as the foundation for multiple adaptations. The story follows a genius pastry chef who reincarnates as Pastry Mille Morteln, the son of a noble family in a fantasy world, where he uses his confectionary knowledge and magic to pursue his dream of making sweets while navigating the challenges of his new life.
