ITKZ

Description
ITKZ is a Japanese manga artist best known as the creator of The Titan's Bride, also known by its Japanese title Kyojinzoku no Hanayome. This work is the primary source of information about the creator's professional identity and artistic focus.

The path to becoming a professional manga artist for ITKZ began with doujinshi, or self-published works. By using a service that submitted these works to publishers, an opportunity arose when the company WWWave extended an offer. This chance to draw manga professionally led to the creation of The Titan's Bride. In an interview, ITKZ explained that while becoming a manga artist was a childhood dream, a teenage passion for video games shifted those aspirations toward working at a game company.

The Titan's Bride, which began serialization in 2019 on the digital platform Screamo under publisher Suiseisha, is an isekai fantasy and boys' love manga. The story follows Kouichi Mizuki, a human high school senior who is summoned to the fantasy world of Eustil. There, he is proclaimed the bride of Caius Lao Bistail, the first prince of the titan kingdom of Tildant. The narrative focuses on their relationship, navigating cultural and physical differences, including a significant size disparity between the human and giant characters. The manga has been collected into several tankōbon volumes and is published in English in print by Seven Seas Entertainment.

The series was adapted into an anime in 2020, with ITKZ credited as the original creator. The adaptation was produced by studio HōKIBOSHI and directed by Rei Ishikura. ITKZ has expressed that the news of the anime adaptation brought both happiness and anxiety, as the first physical volume of the manga had not yet been released at the time, leading to concerns about the source material's performance.

Recurring elements in ITKZ's work can be identified through The Titan's Bride. The artist cites the video game Masō Kishin: The Lord of Elemental as a major influence, noting that its fantasy isekai premise and specific setting details inspired the world of Tildant. This influence is said to extend to most of the works ITKZ creates. Thematically, the manga combines romance with world-building, exploring politics, magic, and various fantasy races such as beastmen and elves. The art style is noted for its detailed character designs and its depiction of intimacy.

The industry significance of ITKZ lies in the success of The Titan's Bride as a notable title within the boys' love and isekai genres, particularly one that gained a substantial international following. The manga's print release in English by Seven Seas Entertainment as completely uncensored editions and its anime adaptation point to its commercial success and cultural reach beyond Japan. In an interview, ITKZ expressed being honored by the large number of overseas fans, stating it felt like one's own world had grown larger knowing that people in different cultures and languages loved the manga. Beyond this primary work, no other notable original manga or anime series are documented as being created by ITKZ.
