Mai Hoshikawa is a Japanese voice actress and narrator born on December 4, 1972, in Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture. Her real name is Miwa Yanagihara. She is affiliated with the talent agency Atomic Monkey, having previously been a member of the Tokyo Actor's Consumers' Cooperative Society.

Hoshikawa began her career in the mid-1990s. She was a member of the voice actor unit Pi解剖 formed from the TV Tokyo program 声♥遊倶楽部, which marked her debut. An early profile lists her training at the Tokyo Announcement Gakuin voice actor seminar in 1993.

Her filmography includes a variety of roles in television anime, original video animations, and video games from the 1990s onward. One of her earlier notable roles was as Moe in the 1996 television anime Baby and Me. In 1999, she voiced Matsumoto in the series To Heart and Eriko in Legend of Black Heaven. A significant role from this period was as Miyama Miko in the video game adaptation of the anime series 下級生. In the 2011 anime adaptation of Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan, she provided the voice for the character Onee-chan, the older sister of the protagonist. In the same year, she also voiced the character ちょりん in the children's program ぐリンちょリンぱリン.

Beyond animation, Hoshikawa has extensive experience in narration and providing voices for characters in other media. She is well-known as the voice of Licca-chan in Takara's Licca doll franchise, also handling the character's telephone message service. Her narration work includes the long-running educational program Pythagora Switch on NHK Education, where she voices the character ピタ. She has also narrated for television programs such as debuya on TV Tokyo and Go! Go! Volunteer on NHK Education.

Her video game work is substantial, with roles across numerous titles and series. She voiced the character Panic Chan in the 1997 game PANIC CHAN Panic Chan. Other game credits include中山理惠 in the 同居情事 series, 梁木美和 in the AZITO series, 星原百合 in Lの季節, and ミレーニア in the 2000 title Grandia II. Later game roles include パメラ・マーテル and ベッキー・ワッツ in the 2004 game michigan and リサ・ソヴィエト連邦 in 2016's 鋼鉄ワルツ Metal Waltz.
