Description
Nana Aokawa is a Japanese manga artist, working as both a writer and illustrator. Aokawa is the original creator behind the manga series How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer. The creator's name in Japanese is written as 蒼川なな.

Aokawa began serializing How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer on the author's Pixiv account on March 21, 2020. The series was later acquired by Square Enix, who began publishing it on their Gangan Online manga website on February 12, 2021. As of October 2025, the manga has been compiled into ten tankōbon volumes. The series is also published in English on Square Enix's Manga UP! app.

The commercial success of the manga led to two major adaptations. A live-action television drama aired from October to December 2022 on Kansai TV's EDGE programming block. Subsequently, an anime television series adaptation produced by Ashi Productions aired from October 5 to December 21, 2024, on Tokyo MX and other networks.

Prior to this work, Aokawa created a manga titled Modokidomo in 2016, indicating an active career in the industry for several years before the breakout success of the later series.

Thematically, How I Attended an All-Guy's Mixer is a romantic comedy that plays with gender norms and expectations. The story follows a group of male college students who attend a mixer expecting to meet women, only to find that their counterparts are three women who work at a cross-dressing bar and present as dazzlingly handsome men. The series has been noted for its gender norm-breaking premise and its lighthearted approach to questioning conventional attraction and sexuality.

The series has achieved significant industry recognition and commercial success. It was nominated for the eighth Next Manga Awards in the web category in 2022, ranking seventh out of fifty nominees. The series also won the Women's Comic Prize at NTT Solmare's Minna ga Erabu!! Denshi Comic Taishō 2023 competition. As of October 2023, the manga had 1.1 million copies in circulation.
