Iris is the original creator behind the light novel and manga series Magical Explorer. The series began as a web novel written by Iris, which was first published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website on February 26, 2018. The story, an isekai comedy, follows a protagonist reincarnated as a side character in an adult fantasy dating simulation game who uses his knowledge of the game to change his fate. Due to its popularity, the series was later acquired for print publication by Kadokawa Shoten, with the first light novel volume released on November 1, 2019, under its Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint. The light novel features illustrations by Noboru Kannatsuki. As of November 2024, eleven volumes of the light novel have been published in Japan, with Yen Press releasing the series in English.

The success of the light novel led to a manga adaptation, with Iris credited as the original story author. The manga is illustrated by Yukari Higa and began serialization on Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace Up website on August 20, 2020. The manga is also published in English by Yen Press. An anime adaptation of Magical Explorer was announced on September 24, 2023, with the television series scheduled to premiere in October 2026. Production staff for the anime includes director Kazuki Oohashi and animation studio White Fox.

Magical Explorer is Iris's most prominent and defining work, establishing a creator identity within the isekai and fantasy comedy genres. The work's recurring themes center on deconstructing genre conventions, specifically focusing on a protagonist who, despite being relegated to a non-heroic supporting role, actively subverts the expected narrative through strategic knowledge.
