Cheda's career in performance began in 1987 with stage appearances, and he worked as a professional stage and television actor from 1993. He studied music at Miami Dade College and the University of Miami and holds an associate degree in communications from Broward College. His entry into voice acting came in 1999 when he attended an audition at a dubbing studio, which led to regular work and allowed him to pursue it as a full-time career. He has been affiliated with The Kitchen since its early years, initially working as a voice talent and later as an artistic director for both English and Latin Spanish language dubs. In the mid-2000s, he founded his own company, OC Production Services, while continuing to work as a sought-after voice actor. He returned to The Kitchen as its casting director in 2017.

As a voice actor, Cheda has voiced numerous characters in English-language dubs of anime and other animated productions. He is known for his long-standing involvement with the Soreike! Anpanman franchise. In the film Soreike! Anpanman Yomigaere Bananajima, he provided the voice for the character Slippery. His other roles in the series include Ice-Cream-Cone-Man in Soreike! Anpanman: Black Nose to Mahō no Uta, Gramps Happie in Soreike! Anpanman: Happy no Daibōken, Da-Dan-Dan in Soreike! Anpanman: Shabondama no Purun, and Nura in Soreike! Beyond Anpanman, his anime voice credits include a range of characters in the 2023 English dub of Case Closed, where he voiced several roles including Hiroshi Agasa and Juzo Megure. He also voiced Isotaro in an episode of Onihei and performed multiple characters in the animated series Space Dogs Family and Legend Quest. His film work includes roles in the English versions of Noah's Ark and The Immortal Warrior.

In addition to performing, Cheda has made significant contributions to anime localization as a staff member. He has served as dialogue director, music director, and adaptation writer on numerous Soreike! Anpanman films. His credits include directing dialogue and music for Soreike! Anpanman Yomigaere Bananajima, Soreike! Anpanman: Black Nose to Mahō no Uta, and Soreike! Anpanman: Ringo Bōya to Minna no Negai. He was also the dialogue director for the 2023 dub of Case Closed and served as director and script adaptation writer for Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits.

Cheda's accomplishments span both stage and voice acting. He won the 2009 Carbonell Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Adding Machine The Musical at GablesStage and later starred in a Carbonell Award-winning production of Death and the Maiden. His work in dubbing is informed by his singing capabilities and his deep understanding of the dubbing process, gained from decades of experience as both a performer and director.
