Ayasa
Description
Ayasa, whose real name is Ayasa Shimamura, is a Japanese rock violinist, voice actor, and YouTuber born in Tokyo on October 19, 1991. Her career is distinguished by a unique blend of classically trained musicianship and performance within anime and multimedia franchises.
Her connection to music began at the age of three when she started playing the violin. She pursued this path through the prestigious Toho Gakuen School of Music, advancing from its children's music classroom to its girls' junior and senior high schools, and ultimately graduating from the university's Faculty of Music with a degree in string instruments. This classical foundation is evidenced by her accomplishments in national competitions, including placing fourth in the high school division of the 19th Japan Classical Music Competition and winning a silver prize at the Tokyo Summit Music Competition.
Before her voice acting debut, Ayasa built a career as a performer. From 2011 to 2015, she was a producer and member of the rock violin project Sword of the Far East. Following her departure from the group, she launched a successful solo career, releasing numerous albums under the "Chronicle" series and "Anisong Cover Night" series through the Dreamusic record label. A significant aspect of her solo work has been her YouTube channel, where she gained a substantial following by posting videos of herself playing violin covers of anime songs, often while in cosplay. In 2018, she formed the duo +A with the singer AKIRA.
Ayasa's voice acting career began in 2020 when she joined the BanG Dream! multimedia franchise. She was cast as Rui Yashio, the composer and violinist of the fictional band Morfonica.
