You Furusawa, also credited as Yû Furusawa, is a Japanese manga artist born on April 29, 1960 in Saitama Prefecture. He made his professional debut in 1983 with the serialization of Taiman Blues, which ran in the automobile magazine Young Auto. The series proved to be an unexpected success and became his most notable creation. Taiman Blues generated several sequel works and was adapted into an anime beginning in 1987. Specific anime adaptations based on his work include Taiman Blues: Ladies Hen Mayumi and Taiman Blues: Shimizu Naoto Hen. In addition to Taiman Blues, Furusawa created the series Special Clothing Frenzy, which was published in Comic Mighty and subsequently received an anime adaptation in 1996. His other manga works include Absolutely, Over Heart!, Rock'n Roar, Tokyo Marusho Remodeling Driving School, which was adapted for the screen in 1996, Special Attack Company Employee, adapted in 2001 and 2002, and Zoku-Giin, adapted in 2007. His artistic identity is closely tied to themes of automotive culture and action comedy, reflecting the subject matter that first brought him success. The name You Furusawa appears as a variant transcription of his credited name in association with his anime and manga productions.
