Sana Amanat is an American comic book editor, writer, and executive, best known for co-creating the character Kamala Khan, the Pakistani-American teenager who becomes the superhero Ms. Marvel. Born in 1982 in New Jersey to Pakistani immigrant parents, Amanat studied political science at Barnard College before entering the publishing industry. She began her career in comics at Virgin Comics and joined Marvel Comics in 2009. As of 2015, she was Marvel's Director of Content and Character Development, a role in which she has focused on increasing diversity and representation in the company's publications.

Amanat is most significantly recognized as the co-creator of Ms. Marvel, a series that introduced Kamala Khan as the first Muslim-American character to headline her own Marvel comic. The character was developed in collaboration with writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Adrian Alphona, with Amanat drawing inspiration from her own experiences growing up as a Muslim-American in New Jersey. The series, which debuted in 2014, was a critical and commercial success, spending several weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list and winning the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story. Beyond Ms. Marvel, Amanat has worked on numerous other significant titles, including Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Daredevil, and Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, serving in both writing and editing capacities.

In addition to her work in print, Amanat has been involved in the adaptation of Marvel properties into other media. She served as a co-executive producer on the animated television film Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors (2018) and its subsequent specials. Amanat transitioned to Marvel Studios by mid-2019, taking on a role in production and development. She is an executive producer on the live-action Disney+ series Ms. Marvel (2022), which adapts the story of Kamala Khan, and also made a cameo appearance in the show. She has continued in an executive producer role for subsequent Marvel Studios series such as Daredevil: Born Again.
