Carlos Stevenson, also known by his stage name Guillermo Romano, was a highly respected and prolific voice actor in the Latin American dubbing industry. Born in Managua, Nicaragua, he moved to Mexico at a young age and later settled in Los Angeles, California, where he resided until his death. His career in voice acting spanned several decades, during which he became known for his versatile and masterful performances.

Stevenson's extensive body of work was not limited to a single genre. He was particularly renowned for providing the definitive Spanish voice for numerous iconic Hollywood actors, including Adam West as Batman in the classic 1960s series, Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun franchise, and Peter Graves in Mission: Impossible. Beyond live-action dubbing, he was a prominent figure in the world of animation, lending his voice to a wide array of characters in both Western and Japanese animated series for the Latin American market.

In the realm of anime and animated series, Stevenson's contributions were substantial. He is notably remembered for voicing the Lion in the original Spanish dubbing of the anime series The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. His voice became synonymous with several key characters in the Transformers franchise, where he voiced Unicron in The Transformers: The Movie, as well as Brawn, Devastator, and Mirage in the original Generation One series. He also served as the narrator for Transformers: The Headmasters. His other prominent anime roles include Rayearth in Magic Knight Rayearth, Von Reichter in Cybersix, Mito in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and numerous characters in Space Adventure Cobra, among many others.

Stevenson's remarkable career also featured recurring work narrating films and documentaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His legacy in voice acting is carried on by his children, Fabiola Stevenson and Carlos Stevenson Jr., who also became voice actors. Carlos Stevenson passed away on July 30, 2018, leaving behind a rich body of work that solidified his status as a legendary figure in Latin American voice acting.
