Riku Misora

Description
Riku Misora is a Japanese novelist born on January 19, 1987, primarily known for creating light novel series that have been adapted into anime and manga. He made his professional debut after winning the 2nd GA Bunko Awards Award of Excellence, which led to the publication of his first series, Danzai no Exceed, under the GA Bunko imprint in 2010. His career is most significantly marked by the creation of two commercially successful franchises: Chivalry of a Failed Knight and High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World. The latter, which follows seven Japanese teenagers with extraordinary talents who use their skills to revolutionize a fantasy world, received a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by studio Project No.9 that aired from October to December 2019. The light novel series for High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World was published by SB Creative under their GA Bunko label, with illustrations by Sacraneco, and ran for ten volumes between 2015 and 2020. The franchise also expanded into a manga adaptation illustrated by Kōtarō Yamada, which was serialized in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine beginning in 2016.

Beyond this title, Misora's other major work, Chivalry of a Failed Knight, was adapted into an anime in 2015 and ran for a total of nineteen light novel volumes from 2013 to 2023. His complete body of work includes several other light novel series such as Ultimate Antihero, published by Kodansha from 2014 to 2016, and I Kissed My Girlfriend's Little Sister, which was released between 2020 and 2022. He also authored the manga series Yakyū de Sensōsuru Isekai de Chokōkōkyū S ga Jyakushōkokka o Sukūyō desu, which was illustrated by Takuya Nishida and published in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius from 2021 to 2023. The recurring themes in his writing often center on fantasy and isekai settings, frequently featuring protagonists who must overcome perceived weaknesses or use advanced knowledge to succeed in new environments. His significance in the industry is demonstrated by the multiple anime adaptations of his work and the commercial success of his series, with Chivalry of a Failed Knight reportedly selling over one million copies.
