CHIROLU

Description
Chirolu is a Japanese author best known as the original creator of the light novel and manga series If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord. The series began as a web novel serialized on the user-generated publishing site Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in August 2014. The story’s popularity led to its acquisition by Hobby Japan, which published the first light novel volume in February 2015 under its HJ Novels imprint.

The light novel series, written by Chirolu, concluded with nine volumes released between February 2015 and September 2019. The series was later adapted into a manga with artwork by Hota, which began serialization in 2016, and into a 12-episode anime television series produced by Maho Film that aired from July to September 2019. The English versions of the light novels and manga have been released by J-Novel Club and Seven Seas Entertainment, respectively.

In an interview, Chirolu shared that the initial motivation for writing was a simple, personal interest, and the work’s expansion began with posting it online. When asked about the core theme of the series, Chirolu responded with a focus on the endearing nature of the main character, Latina, stating a desire to convey the sentiment of "my daughter is really cute". Chirolu has noted that writing the character Latina’s growth over time was a significant aspect of the work, with her appearance changing as she ages.

Information about Chirolu’s background describes the author as a person based in the Kantō region of Japan, with a personality that tends toward being a homebody and an enthusiast of various hobbies, including creative activities and events centered around beer. Chirolu has expressed a preference for stories that are generally leisurely, occasionally serious, but ultimately conclude with a happy ending.
