Jensen Ackles
Description
Jensen Ackles is an American actor who has built a notable career in voice acting, particularly within the animated projects of the DC Universe. His most recognized work in anime is his involvement in Supernatural: The Anime Series, a 2011 Japanese-American production that adapted the first two seasons of the live-action television series. For this project, Ackles reprised his iconic live-action role as Dean Winchester, providing the character's voice for the final two episodes of the series, titled All Hell Breaks Loose Parts 1 and 2. His co-star from the live-action show, Jared Padalecki, voiced his brother Sam Winchester for the entirety of the anime's twenty-two episodes. Ackles' participation was limited to these episodes due to scheduling conflicts with the live-action production of Supernatural at the time.
While his direct work in anime is limited, Ackles has an extensive and celebrated filmography in Western animation, primarily through his long-standing collaboration with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. His voice acting career in this realm began in 2010 with the highly praised direct-to-video film Batman: Under the Red Hood, in which he voiced the character Jason Todd, the former Robin who becomes the vengeant Red Hood. Over a decade later, he took on the mantle of Bruce Wayne, the voice of Batman himself, in the 2021 two-part adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween. He continued to voice the Dark Knight in subsequent entries of the interconnected Tomorrowverse, including the films Legion of Super-Heroes, Justice League: Warworld, and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths. Beyond his voice work for DC, his credits also include the video game Tron: Evolution and the English-language version of the Japanese role-playing game The 3rd Birthday.
