Michael Yarmush is an American-Canadian actor recognized for his extensive work in voice acting, particularly in animated television series. Born on June 19, 1982, in Miami, Florida, he began his acting career as a child performer in the mid-1990s following his family's relocation to Montreal, Quebec, which became a base for his work in the Canadian film and television industry.
Yarmush is most widely known as the original voice of the titular character, Arthur Read, in the long-running PBS children's series Arthur. He provided the voice for Arthur from the show's debut in 1996 through its first five seasons, as well as for the holiday special Arthur's Perfect Christmas in 2000. His performance as the young aardvark earned him a Young Star Award in 1999. After departing the main role due to his voice deepening with age, Yarmush returned to the series in later seasons to voice a different recurring character, a bully named Slink. In a notable full-circle moment, he reprised his original role to voice an adult Arthur in the show's series finale, which aired in 2022.
In the realm of anime voice acting, Yarmush contributed to the English dub of Supernatural: The Animation, a 2011 Japanese anime series based on the live-action television show. In this production, he provided the voice for a younger version of the character Dean Winchester.
