Description
Zehra Fazal is an American voice actress known for her extensive work in animation and video games. Her career in voice acting began after an early background in theater and musical comedy, where she created and performed in her award-winning one-woman show, Headscarf and the Angry Bitch. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Language and Literature with Honors from Wellesley College and has studied with the Takarazuka Revue Company in Japan.

Fazal has lent her voice to numerous animated series across major networks and streaming platforms. She is recognized for roles such as Nadia Rizavi in Voltron: Legendary Defender, Halo in Young Justice: Outsiders, and General Yunan in Amphibia. Her other notable television credits include appearances in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power as Mara, Craig of the Creek as Faraday and Shannon, and My Adventures with Superman as Livewire. She has also voiced characters in Big Hero 6: The Series, Bojack Horseman, and Invincible.

In addition to television, Fazal has a substantial body of work in animated films and direct-to-video features. As specified, she voiced the character Zamza in the English dub of the 2018 anime film The Laws of the Universe: Part I. Her film credits also include roles in several DC animated movies, such as Talia al Ghul in both Batman: Death in the Family and Catwoman: Hunted, and she provided the English dub voice for Sumiko Ōta in Godzilla Minus One. In 2022, she starred as the lead character Tassia in the video game adaptation series Dragon Age: Absolution.

Fazal's work is also prolific in the video game industry. She voiced the Siren Amara in Borderlands 3, Jane Foster / The Mighty Thor in Marvel's Avengers, and Wonder Woman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Other major game credits include Apex Legends as the AI announcer, League of Legends as Kayle, and roles in the Destiny 2 franchise.

Throughout her career, Fazal has demonstrated recurring collaborations with certain casting directors and production houses, frequently working on projects for Warner Bros. Animation, Disney, and Netflix. Notably, Young Justice co-creator Greg Weisman wrote the role of Halo specifically with Fazal in mind, and she went on to voice over a dozen different characters on the show.

Her contributions to the field have been recognized with industry accolades. In 2019, she won two Voice Arts Awards from the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS): one for Outstanding Animation Character - TV or Web for her role as Halo in Young Justice: Outsiders, and another for Outstanding Body of Work, Best Voice Actor.
