Yves Massicotte was a French-Canadian actor and voice actor with a career spanning over seven decades in theater, television, radio, and dubbing. Born in Montreal on May 15, 1934, he began developing his craft as a young actor and went on to become a familiar presence in Quebec's cultural landscape. He passed away on April 8, 2022, at the age of 87.

Massicotte was particularly renowned for his work in dubbing, lending his distinctive voice to numerous animated films and series translated into French. One of his most notable roles in animation was providing the voice of King Triton, the ruler of the sea, in two different adaptations of The Little Mermaid. He voiced the character in the 1975 Japanese anime series Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. He later returned to the role for the Canadian French dub of Disney's 1989 animated feature film The Little Mermaid. His involvement in both projects highlights his enduring presence in the field of dubbing for major animated productions. His voice can also be heard in a wide array of other films, such as the dubs of Atlantis: The Lost Empire, where he played King Kashekim Nedakh, and The Book of Life, among many others.

Beyond film dubbing, Massicotte was a prolific voice actor for television series. He was known for his work on the long-running animated series The Simpsons, providing the French voices for the characters Barney Gumble and Dr. Julius Hibbert. His career was also deeply rooted in children's television, where he became a beloved figure for his on-screen roles. He was widely recognized for his portrayal of Centour in the early 1970s program Les 100 tours de Centour and also appeared in classic Quebecois children's shows such as La boîte à Surprise, Fanfreluche, and Picolo. Later in his career, he played the role of Papi Bonheur on the TFO network. His extensive contributions to both on-screen and voice acting made him a familiar and cherished figure in French-Canadian entertainment for generations.
