The story follows Itsuki Shimomiya, an exhausted office worker who is reincarnated into a fantasy world and receives a unique skill called Pocket Money that generates money once per day, allowing him to pursue a relaxing life away from conflict.

Beyond this series, shige contributed a chapter to the K-ON! Anthology Comic. The third volume of this anthology includes a chapter titled Club President For A Day! written by shige. The author is also listed as providing theme song lyrics for the anime Fantastic Detective Labyrinth and choreography for the ending theme of Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. A scholar named Shige (CJ) Suzuki has published academic work on manga, including a critical guide to manga published by Bloomsbury Academic in 2023, though the relationship between this academic and the creator of Slow Life In Another World (I Wish!) is not established in available sources. No biographical information about shige, including birth date, real name, or personal background, is available from verifiable sources.
