Kathreen Khavari is an American actress, voice actress, writer, and producer known for her work in television and animation. She was born Kathren Aziz Khavari on June 23, 1983, in Oakland, California, and was raised there by her Iranian immigrant parents. Before pursuing a career in acting, she studied public health at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned a master's degree in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Upon returning to the United States, she began taking acting jobs while continuing to work in the public health field.

Khavari is widely recognized for providing the voice of the superhero Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, in various animated series and video games produced by Marvel Entertainment. Her first time voicing the character was in the animated series Avengers Assemble, a role she would reprise multiple times. She continued as the voice of Ms. Marvel in the English dub of the anime series Marvel Future Avengers, including its second season, where she also voiced Kamala's mother, Muneeba Khan. She further voiced the character in the 2017 animated series Spider-Man and across several entries in the Marvel Rising franchise, including the television films Marvel Rising: Initiation, Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, and others. Her portrayal of Ms. Marvel also extended to video games, such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

Beyond her signature role as Ms. Marvel, Khavari's voice work in animation includes the character Badyah Hassan in the 2022 Netflix animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park. That same year, she began voicing the lead role of Twitch Malto, a new kind of Transformer, in the Nickelodeon animated series Transformers: EarthSpark. Her other voice credits include appearances in series like Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! and Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters.

Khavari's career also encompasses live-action roles, most notably as Patricia in the HBO series Insecure and as Samantha in the HBO series Big Little Lies. She is also a writer and producer; her pilot Embrace, which she co-wrote and starred in, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 and won the Episodic Pilot Competition Jury Award at SXSW. Earlier in her career, she gained attention for her satirical YouTube channel, Brain of Terror, where she created sketches addressing social justice issues.
