Akihisa Wakayama is a Japanese voice actor born on June 27 in Aichi Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency Sigma Seven. He decided to pursue a career in voice acting after being inspired by the performance of Yuichi Nakamura in the anime series Macross Frontier. He is a graduate of the 21st generation of the Sigma Seven Voice Acting Training School.
Wakayama's career began in 2015 with minor roles in the television anime series The Asterisk War. His first leading role came in 2016 when he was cast as the protagonist Tokio in the television anime Time Bokan 24. Since then, he has taken on a variety of supporting and main roles across numerous popular anime series. One of his most consistent roles is that of Ryuji Kanzaki in the long-running series Classroom of the Elite, having voiced the character in its first, second, and third seasons. He is also known for voicing Regis K. Landegre in the 2020 anime adaptation of the manhwa Noblesse, a role that was officially announced in September of that year. In 2024, he voiced the protagonist Bon Namihira in the web anime adaptation of T・P BON (Time Patrol Bon), based on the work of Fujiko F. Fujio. That same year, he also took on the role of Akito Shudo in the second season of the popular anime Blue Lock. Other notable credits include minor roles in Goblin Slayer, One-Punch Man, and Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.
In addition to anime, Wakayama has contributed his voice to several video games.
