Midori Natsu
Description
Midori Natsu is a Japanese novelist, manga writer, and screenwriter. Born in Osaka Prefecture, she holds a doctorate from the Graduate School of Science at Kyoto University and is a member of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan and the Space Writers Club. She made her professional writing debut in 1994 when her novel Pirate Ship Gulf Stream received an excellence award in the Fantasia Long Novel Prize competition.
Natsu is credited as the original creator of the manga Feng Shui Academy. This work, which ran for a single volume containing six chapters from July to December 2006, was published in English by Dr. Master Productions Inc. in 2009. The story is set at the Kusanagi School of Magical Architecture, a high school that trains students to use feng shui and spiritual methods in architecture to combat demons in a modern Tokyo where protective seals have been broken. The manga was adapted from Natsu's own light novel series of the same name, which was published by MF Bunko J.
Beyond Feng Shui Academy, Natsu has authored numerous other light novel series, including Pui Pui!, The Lamp Fairy Maid, and The Only One at the Demon King's School is a Hero!? She has also worked as the original writer for several other manga series, such as Veterinary Dolittle, Our Reasoning Notebook, and The Spiral Labyrinth. Her professional activities extend to anime production as well; she contributed scripts for the 2017 series The Laughing Salesman NEW and provided setting cooperation for the Yuruyuri franchise. Her body of work is characterized by a blend of genres, including science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and even economics, often drawing upon her academic background in the sciences.
