Akamitsu Awamura is a Japanese author recognized as the creator of the light novel series Seiken Tsukai no World Break. Writing under the pen name Awamura Akamitsu, his professional debut came after receiving an encouragement award in the first GA Bunko Grand Prize for his work Kizuna wa Mugen no You ni Renketsu Shi Ai wa Tate no You ni Muteki. His career has been consistently centered on the light novel format, with all of his major series published by SB Creative under their GA Bunko imprint.

Awamura is best known for Seiken Tsukai no World Break, a light novel series that was published in twenty-two volumes from November 2012 to June 2018. The series was illustrated by Refeia and became the foundation for a multimedia franchise. It received a manga adaptation that was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine from June 2014 to February 2016, which was later compiled into four volumes. A twelve-episode anime television series adaptation produced by the studio Diomedéa was broadcast from January to March 2015.

Beyond his most famous work, Awamura has maintained a steady career as a light novelist. His bibliography includes the series Arui wa Genzai Shinkei no Kuro Rekishi, which also featured illustrations by refeia. Later works include My Yōyū Furueyo Tenchi: Alexis Teikoku Kōroki, Hyakushin Hyakunen Taisen, and Tasogare no Kishidan, Jūrin, Jūrin, Jūrin su. More recent titles from 2020 onward include Ore no Joshitomo ga Saikō ni Kawaii, Tensei Maō no Daisansan, and Rūn Teikoku Chūkōki. His writing practice is noted to be disciplined, with a reported routine of completing ten pages per day on his computer.

His significance in the industry is primarily tied to the success of Seiken Tsukai no World Break, which serves as a representative example of the fantasy light novel genre that frequently received anime adaptations during the mid-2010s. The body of his work is characterized by recurring themes common to the genre, including reincarnation, magical academies, and protagonists with unique or dual powers, as seen in the foundational premise of Seiken Tsukai no World Break, which centers on a hero who possesses memories of two distinct past lives.
