Hitoyo Shinozaki

Description
Hitoyo Shinozaki is a Japanese creator known for writing the original story behind the anime No Money and the manga Okane ga Nai, which serves as the foundation for that anime adaptation. Shinozaki is credited as the author of the original light novel series Okane ga Nai, which began publication in June 1999 and concluded in March 2014, spanning eight volumes. The light novels were initially published by Oakla Shuppan under the Eclipse Romance imprint before later being handled by Gentōsha Comics under the Lynx Romance label. Shinozaki also wrote the subsequent manga adaptation, which began serialization in 2002 in the josei manga magazine Comic Magazine LYNX, published by Gentōsha Comics. The manga series remained in publication for over a decade, with volumes released into 2014.

Shinozaki’s role extends into anime production as well, having been credited as the screenwriter for the four-episode original video animation adaptation of Okane ga Nai, which was released in 2007. This OVA series was directed by Makoto Sokuza and produced by the studio Yricc. The creative collaboration between Shinozaki and illustrator Tōru Kōsaka is a defining feature of the Okane ga Nai franchise, as Kōsaka provided the illustrations for both the original light novel series and the manga adaptation.

The body of work associated with Hitoyo Shinozaki is singularly focused on the Okane ga Nai franchise, which is a romance drama in the yaoi genre. The story centers on a transactional relationship that develops between a financially desperate university student and the wealthy loan shark who purchases him at an auction. Beyond the original publications and anime adaptation, the franchise also spawned multiple drama CDs. Information regarding Shinozaki’s background, other original works, or broader industry significance remains limited, with the creative identity being defined almost entirely by this long-running series.
