Senri Akatsuki is a Japanese light novelist and manga writer, known in Japanese by the name Akatsuki Senri (明月千里). The creator made their professional debut in 2009 after winning an encouragement award in the first GA Bunko Awards for the light novel Tsukimi Tsukiru no Tantei Satsujin. This mystery novel, illustrated by mebae, marked the beginning of a career focused on light novel publications aimed at a male demographic.
Akatsuki is most widely recognized as the original creator of the fantasy mecha series Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle. The light novel, which began publication on August 12, 2013, was released under SB Creative's GA Bunko imprint. The series ran for a total of twenty volumes, concluding on August 6, 2020. The original novels were illustrated by Ayumu Kasuga, who worked on the series from 2013 to 2018, and later by Yuichi Murakami from 2019 to 2020.

While Akatsuki is credited for the original story, the manga adaptation was written in collaboration with Itsuki Watanabe and illustrated by Fumi Tadaura, and was collected into eleven tankōbon volumes. The franchise expanded further with a twelve-episode anime television series produced by Studio Lerche, which aired in Japan from January to March 2016. This adaptation brought the story of the deposed prince Lux Arcadia and his enrollment in a female-only Drag-Knight academy to a wider audience.
