Kiraku Kishima is a Japanese author known primarily as the original creator of the fantasy light novel series Shinmai Ossan Bōkensha, Saikyō Party ni Shinu Hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru, which is also known as The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, Trained to Death by the Most Powerful Party, Became Invincible. This series serves as the foundation for a multimedia franchise that includes a manga adaptation and an anime television series.
Kishima began the story as a web novel, first serializing it on the user-generated publishing site Shōsetsuka ni Narō before moving it to the Kakuyomu website in June 2018. The series was later acquired by Hobby Japan, which began publishing it as a light novel with illustrations by Tea under its HJ Novels imprint in December 2018. As of early 2025, the light novel series remains ongoing with multiple volumes released.
