Chama

Description
Chama is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator best known as the creator of the original work for the 2013 television anime Aiura. Chama began their professional career by publishing web comics as a general user on the Japanese illustration platform niconico Seiga, which led to opportunities for commercial serialization.

The artist’s most recognized work, Aiura, started as a yonkoma, or four-panel manga. It was first published online on niconico Seiga beginning March 2, 2011, and was later serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s 4-Koma Nano Ace magazine. Following the discontinuation of Nano Ace, the series moved to Monthly Shonen Ace magazine. The manga concluded its run on April 23, 2014, and was compiled into six tankobon volumes released between February 2012 and July 2014.

The success of the manga led to a television anime adaptation. The Aiura anime was produced by the studio Liden Films, written and directed by Ryōsuke Nakamura, and aired on TV Tokyo from April 10 to June 26, 2013. The series is a slice-of-life comedy that follows the daily interactions of a group of high school girls, with each of its twelve episodes having a runtime of approximately four minutes.

Beyond Aiura, Chama has created several other manga series. These include Radio Lady, which was published in Poni Manga magazine; Iningu! (いにんぐ!), serialized in Monthly Shonen Ace; and Densha-nai de K ga Daberu dake no Yatsu (電車内でKがダベるだけのヤツ), published on niconico Seiga. Chama has also worked as a writer and artist for various anthology comics, contributing to series such as Hidamari Sketch Anthology Comic, The iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls - Shuffle!! Comic Anthology, and Aldnoah.Zero Anthology Comic. Additionally, Chama provided the story and art for the baseball manga Burupen Kyatcha Mabiki Mitsuhito (ブルペンキャッチャー真壁満人), based on an original story by Takaomi Ota, which was serialized in Young Jump magazine.
