Shihon Takamura is the credited creator and author of the light novel series Koi wa Futago de Warikirenai. The series began publication in May 2021 under the Dengeki Bunko imprint of ASCII Media Works, with illustrations provided by Almic. As of March 2023, the series had expanded to five volumes. Takamura is credited as the original creator for both the manga and anime adaptations that followed the light novel series.

The popularity of the original light novel led to a manga adaptation, which began serialization in the magazine Comic Dengeki Daioh g in April 2022. The manga is illustrated by Okari, with Takamura credited for the original story. Two tankobon volumes had been released by July 2023.

An anime television series adaptation of Koi wa Futago de Warikirenai was announced at the 30th-anniversary event for Dengeki Bunko in July 2023. The anime was produced by the animation studio ROLL2 and premiered in July 2024. The series was directed by Motoki Nakanishi, with Michiko Yokote overseeing the series scripts. In this adaptation, Takamura is officially credited as the original creator of the work upon which the anime is based.
