Ikehaya
Description
Ikehaya is an original creator known for founding the CryptoNinja NFT project, which served as the basis for the anime television series Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya. Born in 1986, Ikehaya began his career as a blogger and YouTuber before transitioning into the role of a creator and investor in the digital content space. In 2021, he launched the CryptoNinja character brand, a non-fungible token project featuring illustrations by the artist Rii2. The project grew into what was described as one of Japan's largest and most active NFT communities, drawing a community of over 50,000 fans and creators.
The CryptoNinja intellectual property expanded into traditional animation with the production of Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya. The anime was announced in early 2022 and was positioned as the world's first television anime series for NFT characters. The series is produced by the animation studio Fanworks, with Akifumi Nonaka serving as director and Toru Hosokawa handling series scripts. Ikehaya is credited as the founder and original creator of the project, with the anime being produced by a committee that includes Fanworks, Tokyo Otaku Mode, Tsucrea, and The Battle. The first season premiered in October 2023, followed by a second season in January 2024. A third season, titled Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya San no Maki, is scheduled to debut in July 2025.
The story of the anime follows three characters—Sakuya, Nemu, and Xiaolan—living in the ninja city of Kōka. When a sacred Crypto Scroll is stolen, a battle royale breaks out among the ninja, drawing the three protagonists into the conflict. The series is notable for its short-form format, with episodes running approximately five minutes in length.
Beyond his work on the CryptoNinja franchise, Ikehaya has also published several books, including titles such as Buki to shite no kaku gijutsu (The Art of Writing as a Weapon), Mada Tokyo de shōmō shiteru no? (Are You Still Wasting Away in Tokyo?), and Jiasu-sha no yō ni hatarakō (Work Like a Jazz Player). These works reflect his background as a commentator on productivity, career strategy, and digital culture. His creative identity is thus rooted in a blend of digital entrepreneurship, community-building around blockchain-based assets, and the adaptation of those assets into traditional media formats like television anime.
